You know what’s funniest to me on YouTube? People making whole 20 minute videos ENTIRELY about who said what on Twitter, and “oooh what this means is…”.
IT MEANS NOTHING!!!!! Twitter has absolutely no real-world relevance. No one cares who said what to who and what that person is going to do and how. No one even knows who 99% of the people even ARE these people are yabbering on about.
Twitter WANTS you to think it has real-world relevance – of course. Media companies generate swathes of ‘news stories’ entirely from Twitter. ‘Journalism’ in 2023 frequently amounts to sitting there from early in the morning on your laptop trawling through Twitter, seeing how many viewers of [insert popular TV show here] liked it and how many didn’t, and what they said about it, and then forming a ‘story’ from that.
That doesn’t equate to anything meaningful!! It’s popcorn content. In one eyeball and out the other. You’ve forgotten the story by the end of the afternoon. Same deal with any of these muppets fighting over meaningless drivel on Twitter, then sitting there in their warehouse with their extra large “my mic is bigger than your mic” mic prattling on about it.
