It was coming sooner or later. Dear Bernard. I finally got around to going and getting his autograph a few years back at one of the many conventions he signed at. I made sure to tell him he was one of the best bedtime story readers of all time – at which he looked mildly perplexed. I got him to sign my CD of The Snowman – which he read. Quite a feat in itself because the actual cartoon film for the book has no words.

A lovely man to meet, and a massive career. Cheerio, Bernard. 👋🏻
