Clearance Goes On

I’m actually GLAD some old style things are history. Not least all the endless bank statements and cheque books I am finding during my clearing up in here. 70% of the bank statements I’ve never even OPENED. They’ve just been sat there on a shelf for years. WHY??????!!!!!! I’m never going to use them, for anything, ever. I’m managing my finances week to week, I’m as careful as I can possibly be with potential online banking fraud/access/theft. And in any case, you couldn’t even physically steal £1000 from me, let alone the amounts being siphoned off of accounts that you read about in the horror stories. I’m a pitiful phishing target 🤣

So why the fuck am I just holding on to bank statements going back years?? Tell me one single time I would ever need to produce these, for any reason. I think it’s just the weird way I was brought up. Keep everything related to banking or education, ‘just in case’. Well I’m sick of ‘just in case’ clogging up my fucking spaces!!!!

I’m also going to shred my GCSE results. Why the fuck are they still with me??!! “Oh, yes Stephen, I see here on your CV that it says you have a GCSE in History. Could you just show us the certificate that proves that please?” Guess how many times any employer has actually said that to me……

Even more stupid than that are the training certificates I’ve found from the job at the care home:

“This is to certify that Stephen [me] has successfully completed the Foundation Care and Control on Medicines training on 24 August 2006″……….which I then just had to do all over again a couple of years later as a refresher!!! 🤦🏻‍♂️Fucking jesus – these are being shredded!!

This kind of clearance takes forever, and despite piles I can see with my own eyes disappearing, it barely looks any different. This is really what is making clearing up clutter so bloody hard for me. But I continue, and I am determined…..
