There was a time I hated Tesco. There was a time they were so powerful and so arrogant they clearly thought they didn’t even need to bother trying, and the poor quality of their bland own-brand food showed this in spades. They entered the internet service provider game, set up what was largely seen as a direct competitor to Amazon, Tesco Direct, and had lofty ambitions abroad.
Then came that huge accounting scandal – and it didn’t cost them millions, it cost them billions.
They emerged from this seemingly a much more humble entity. They started to try SO HARD with their own-brand range that I clearly remember going through a phase I would see new products on their shelves every week. It was almost a renaissance (if not a phoenix – Tesco were hardly about to be bought out). They closed their (excellent) broadband business and not too long after shut down Tesco Direct. They also failed in America – badly.
Fast forward to today, and I’m sat here trying to wrap my head around the kind of person who considers that Tesco are a ‘target’, and that’s it’s just fiiiiiine to abuse their staff and behave so fucking obnoxiously, towards people, and a company, without either of which YOU WOULD NOT EVEN BE FUCKING EATING OR WIPING YOUR ARSE. Yes of course there’s other options to go and buy from, that goes without saying – this post though is about Tesco.
I’d just really like to know the type of cunt who thinks nothing of abusing a shop that’s just trying to sell you nice things. Please – enlighten me.
