I wonder why the XBox continues to limp along rather than be an all powerful juggernaut like the PlayStation. Hmm could it possibly be because Microsoft know fuck all about gaming.
In this instance I’m referring to Games for Windows Live – Microsoft’s really well conceived “log in or else you can’t play your own games” mess that lasted a colossal 7 years. I suppose when it launched it was marginally more likeable and gamer friendly than Steam – but then that’s not exactly a high bar, is it.
And it’s left me having to ditch some of my old Games for Windows Live games that I have on disc – purely because it’s baked into those games and with the service killed off by Microsoft, it’s a lot of faff to force them to work – a lot of faff that I don’t have the time or inclination for. Not that this is entirely a bad thing in 100% of cases. Dead Rising 2 was one of these games I have on disc. And if you’ve ever played them, you’d know (but probably wouldn’t admit) that there’s little difference between any of the Dead Rising games.
Onwards and upwards – I’m still purging and clearing!
